Uobei is a little different from most conveyor belt sushi, well, because there is no conveyor belt. Instead, you order with touch panels and the sushi is delivered to you as it's made via speedy little trays.
Seeing a conveyor belt sushi restaurant without a conveyor belt is a bit strange. Being able to order fresh sushi using the multi-lingual touch panels is extremely convenient and makes it easy for anyone to order. How futuristic! The shop's owner recommends trying the minced tuna with spicy sesame oil and shrimp tempura rolls.
Around 2009, there was a big boom in foods containing spicy sesame oil. Since then, it's become a standard seasoning used in many foods, including sushi.
The speed of the service is amazing. The little trays come shooting down the lanes.
The combination of the spicy sesame oil and tuna makes for unbelievably delicious experience.
At Uobei, they have your classic sushi, as well as, unique sushi rolls, ramen, miso soup, udon, and even desserts! Also, they have another Uobei with an actual conveyor belt, so we recommend checking that out as well. Try out a few different sushi and find your favorite!
