Kameido Tenjin Shrine (Tokyo)
The Kameido Tenjin shrine was built more than 350 years ago, and it’s known as the most popular spot for wisteria viewing in Tokyo, attracting thousands of visitors every season. The reason for its popularity is because this shrine is the only place in Tokyo where you can enjoy views of wisteria and the Skytree, which is the tallest tower in Japan, at the same time. This park opens every year from late April to mid-May and during the maple season in fall. Here you can walk through some of the most beautiful tunnels in Japan: the famous wisteria-covered tunnels. There is both an 80-meter and a 220-meter tunnel, which are covered in 22 different kinds of wisteria. They are both an incredible sight to behold. The best view here is from a hilltop, where you can look down upon all the different types of wisteria that bloom in this park.
Ashikaga Flower Park (Tochigi)
There are over 350 different species of wisteria in this 94,000㎡park. The main feature here is the huge year-old wisteria and a beautiful 80M long white wisteria tunnel, that is over 100 years old. Additionally, you can enjoy the rare yellow and pink wisteria variants here as well. The Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi is truly one of the most amazing parks in all of Japan!
