Winter beauty of Lake Kuzuryu in Fukui Prefecture captured from the sky. Notice the change in the scenery as the frozen beauty is warmed by the sunset.
Lake Kuzuryu is a scenic beauty in the Fukui prefecture, named after Kuzuryu, a nine-headed dragon diety that appears in Japanese folklore and legend. Kuzuryu is said to have a special connection with the Fukui prefecture. The creation myth of Mount Togakushi involves Kuzuryu appearing in Fukui in response to another diety tearing off a rock door to a nearby cave. The rock became Togakushi and Kuzuryu became another mountain of the same name, in addition to a nearby river. Lake Kuzuryu is actually an artificial lake that was constructed for the Kuzuryu dam and hydroelectric power station.
The beauty of Japan's four seasons; winter, spring, summer and fall, can be seen in Lake Kuzuryu every year. In the fall, the breathtaking crimson of the autumn leaves are prominent, not to mention the cherry blossoms in the spring, and greenery of the summer. All of these colors look beautiful when reflected in the water of the lake.
The bridge pictured in the video is called "Yume no Kakehashi" or the "Bridge Between Dreams." It blends beautifully with the surrounding nature, especially during autumn.
