Published on 02.26.2016 I tried my best to plan my trip to Kamakura to line up with the fall leaves season. We did pretty good for the most part. One of the best places we went for the fall leaves was Genjiyama Park. Genjiyama Park is a small park with a lot of small hiking trails surrounding it. It is also home to a statue of Minamoto no Yoritomo, who was an extremely important figure in Japanese history, especially in Kamakura. It was really breathtaking to see the vibrant colors and the contrast between the different types of trees. Warning: It is quite difficult to access for two reasons. The first being the crazy hill you have to climb and the second being finding that hill to climb up, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes if you are thinking of checking it out.
