A wonderfully traditional Japanese residence with a hint of history melded in. The worn walls and doors seem to add to the beauty of the house giving it a feeling of being old and welcome. A sort of nostalgic aura that emanates comfort and homeliness. The outside garden and stone walls also contribute to the overall appeal of the location, adding a touch of nature. The stone ornaments outside compliment the garden as well as the house, further implementing the traditional setting. The straw made roofs of the buildings were a nice touch, and although they may look loose, the strong wooden frame underneath all that straw would prevent it from crumbling. The aesthetic of the residence is designed to make it appear old, but the level of cleanliness and lighting make everything seem fresh and airy. The large, open doors allow for sunlight to filter through and air to pass without disturbance, creating a natural flow of cool air to help with the summer heat and humidity. Some improvements or renovations would be required to make sure that that stone steps and floor is strong enough to bear weight and not be a hazard to safety but that is to be expected in any old home.
