A festival of this nature is always a big event for both adults and children alike. Festivals can usually fit into the theme of any major event, such as religiously significant days, community celebrations or national holidays. As such, the Arima Summer festival presents an opportunity for the community to come out and enjoy the summer time with friends or family. What with all the booths, stores, and vendors, everyone can enjoy what the sellers have to offer. Usually the food stalls are the most popular, cooking up a wide variety of dishes to appeal to anyone especially as the smells waft down the stalls and mix with the air. Those stalls offer everything from yakisoba, to ramen, to crepes and all sorts of other delicious foods that can be seen, bought and enjoyed. Other than food, the huge assortment of festival game booths provide constant source of delight for children and adults. In particular, ring throwing, goldfish catching and shooting targets with an air rifle are popular in any festival. No festival is complete without some traditional music, poetry and dancing to compliment the atmosphere and allow the general public to participate in the fun. The performers have practiced for many weeks only for events such as these and are keen to do well for themselves, their audience, and their fellow performers.
