Light-up of Ashikaga Flower Park
Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi Prefecture is famous not only for its wisteria blossoms but also very popular for its illuminative night-viewing beauty during the night. Because of its colorful lights which is lit up on all over the park, this 9 hectares park still have visitors even at night. If you come to Japan, this park is an absolute "must see" spot.
Situated in Tochigi Prefecture, Ashikaga Flower Park is full of stunning views and famous for its amazing wisteria. It can be reach easily by train and Tomita is the nearest station. You can install and use the Hyperdia app in your smartphones for full access of the train's schedule. Without taking the Shinkansen train, the trip is about 2 hours. Take the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line or JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Oyama and then transfer to JR Ryomo Line and then to Tomita Station. Get off at Tomita Station and walk about 12 minutes to reach the park.
Ashikaga Flower Park is also recognized as one of the top 3 places in the Kanto region for illuminations. There aren't a lot of flowers in winter so the management came up with this brilliant idea to keep visitors coming in especially at night. It was certified as one of the top illumination spots in the Kanto region. The illumination usually starts in October and ends in early of February when the flowers start to bloom. It opens 15:30-21:00 on weekdays and 15:30-21:30 on weekends and National Holidays. The lights start to lighten up at exactly 16:30. The whole park is decorated with more than 3 million light bulbs in different colors. Beautiful, glittery, and amazing, it will take you on a very romantic scenery so this is very popular to couples especially during Christmas season.
