Why visit Ningyocho?
I`m not sure if you have heard of this place but it is certainly a must-go place while in Tokyo. it has this sophisticated old downtown Edo era atmosphere. It has very traditional and long-running restaurants that some are there for about a century.
You would also find many temples and small food shops for street food adventures! And I have some food recommendations. 1st is Taiyaki, it a fish-shaped baked bread or pancake with different fillings inside like adzuki beans and cream cheese, matcha flavored, ankle, custard cream, sweet potatoes, and a lot more! 2nd is “KOROKKE” or croquette! It`s like hash browns but better! coz it so soft and tasty inside. you will definitely switch from hash brown to Korokke when you try it here in ningyocho. 3rd “menchikatsu” It`s like fried meat balls but with a lot of meat and onion juice inside! If you like meat like me, you`ll love this one! 4th is Oshiruko which is mocha in adzuki bean soup! don`t worry this one is not so sweet but just right! imagine chewy mocha with sweet beans soap for dessert! Mmmmm! 5th is Anmitsu, it`s a Japanese traditional parfait but much healthier coz they use healthy ingredients and the taste? It takes you to the Edo era with a teaspoon in your hand instead of a sword. Hihi!
