Published on 04.28.2016 We started our Ningyochou adventure at Futaba, a small cafe that is rather well-known for it's tasty Amazake and Ganmo. Amazake is a traditional sweet low or non-alcoholic drink that is made from fermented rice. Amazake dates back as far as the Kofun period (250AD-538AD) and is often thought to be really healthy. Some people even believe it to be a bit of a hangover cure. Ganmo is also really healthy as it's made from tofu and is filled with different nuts and vegetables. I'm not usually a big fan of healthy foods but both of these were extremely delicious and cheap. Check Futaba out if you ever venture into Ningyocho.
