When the word “Hanami” comes to your mind, I’m sure that almost of everyone would think about relaxing in the parks during the day where Sakura petals are falling, and the slight breeze blowing through the day.
But do you know that, Night Hanami has also become really common in Japan, as the night view is also as gorgeous as the view in the day especially with the night lights shinning on it! This is known as “Yozakura” , which can be directly translated to “Night Sakura”.
There are many places around Japan that is famous for their “Yozakura”, and let me introduce you the Top 3 places in Japan itself, and also the Top 2 in Tokyo!
Top 3 in Japan:
1. Yoshinoyama in Nara
2. Sakura no miya Park in Osaka
3. Mitsui Shrine in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture

If you’re unsure what to bring over for a Night Hanami, just bring some food or even alcoholic drinks (do not drink if you’re a minor) to soak yourself in the mood over there and enjoy the cooling breeze of the spring!
Some rules to take note while you are enjoying the Yozakura.
1. Do not break off branches of the cherry blossoms to take home as souvenirs
2. Do be careful with the roots of the tree as they are very much delicate
3. Do not bother other people who are not in the hanami
Such hanami session is not only limited to your family and friends, company gatherings or social circles also do such events, so do join them if you can!
