What is a freezing rain? Freezing rain is a type of rain that falls when surface temperatures are below the freezing point. They are also commonly known as hail.
Freezing rain can be really pretty as the sunrays shine through the frozen rain that falls on the branches of trees. Such views can create a soothing effect to the mind and body.
Usually you can find such view in the northern part of Japan, starting from Nagano area, and the trees are totally covered in white.
One would not be able to see such phenomenon in big cities, but you will be able
to see it in places that are further away from the city as the temperature away from the city is definitely lower.
But do take note that such rains are notorious for causing travel problems on roadways, breaking down tree branches and downing the power lines due to the accumulating weight of the ice.
