One of the mountains of Shiretoko, there is a lake, which is also known as the Rausuko Lake, that is well known for both their greenery in the summer and their red autumn leaves in the autumn.
The view is very scenic with Mount Chinishibetsu as the main background.
Currently, there are nature walks being organized to enjoy such trails.
While on this trail, if you take the route from the Rausuko Lake entrance to the Rausuko trail, it will take about 3 hours and 30 minutes of walking to and fro, and during that journey you will get to enjoy the nature of Shiretoko. Starting from the beautiful lakes to the sea of creeping pines and flower fields, one can get to enjoy and feel like as if they are back to nature.
Usually such trails are done in late Spring, Summer and Autumn as the weather is just suitable, not too hot nor cold, and both the greenery in the late Spring and Summer and the red leaves in Autumn gives off a soft atmosphere. Winter is not recommended as it can be quite dangerous.
