Oysters are certainly an underappreciated dish, and all it takes to understand how tasty they can be either alone or combined with other foods is eating them fresh and recently cooked. It seems like the people of Itoshima have the right idea in this case. Cooked the day they are fished out of the ocean fresh and juicy. It is surprising to see oysters cooked directly in their shells instead of the meat taken out first but it looks as if that could be quite a delicious treat in itself. Commonly thought to be a more luxurious type of food served in fancy restaurants or in addition with fried rice, people miss out on how much fun can be had simply grilling the oysters and eating them right there and then. It would explain the lines in front of the oyster shops as shown in this video for sure! Credit must be given to both the people who go out and fish the oysters out of the water as well as those people who prepare them. It takes time and effort to bring the oysters to hungry customers so gratitude towards those people who gather them is well deserved. The fishing docks also have a peaceful atmosphere with boats gently bobbing in the sea and people coming and going at their own paces. All of that makes for a quaint experience.
