It seems like no matter where in the world you may be, the search for an apartment or house always begins in the same way, a lot of walking and numerous sittings with a landlord or rental company representative. The difference is that many companies outside of Japan don’t really offer rides to the potential houses. It is usually based on appointments to visit specific houses on certain days. It is also nice to see that one housing representative is able to take you to all the potential houses or apartments instead of you having to set up appointments with the apartment manager of each place you visit, as is the case in countries such as Canada and the U.S. The apartments there seemed small but it would be alright for 2 people. Apartments closer to the city are always a bit smaller usually because of the denser population and higher demand. Also, with Japan being an island and a lot of people living there, housing prices are bound to go up over time. It is pleasant to see that most of the apartments were really clean and tidy, ready to be rented out at a moment’s notice and with the least amount of problems caused for any new tenants. It shows the respect the company has for its potential clients or tenants. The kitchen counters in those apartments were all made of metal, which would be cheaper for the landlord than a marble countertop and easier to clean than a wooden one. Even so it is strange to see the entire countertop made of shining metal!
