Traditional arts usually developed as a means to capture the more esoteric aspects of a civilization and culture, focusing on the music, performance and poetry of the people and solidifying it into a thing of splendor. Japanese traditional arts are no exception, and have used their own versions of wind and string instruments to create music, poetry and songs. The distinctive method that the performers use to pluck the strings of the instruments is in itself hypnotizing, grabbing the attention of the viewers and allowing the musician to follow up with poetry, talk or song. The usage of some modern musical instruments with traditional ones improved the quality and tone of the music, infusing the past with the present to create something completely different, although no less magnificent. It must also be said that the performance was further complemented by the traditional Japanese garb worn by the performers. Every aspect of the show was designed to complement each other and did so wonderfully. It must have been a one of a kind experience for the audience. Furthermore, the street side puppet show was extremely well performed, with the fluid puppet motion and synchronization with the music, it almost seemed as if the puppet could have been a real person.
