As Okinawa is a beautiful island and has many things to see and do, this island also offers unique experiences and adventures. Enjoy yourself splashing in the largest ocean water park resort for your tropical vacation, see one of the largest aquarium, scuba dive in a secluded island, and more. All of these should need to go on your bucket list when visiting Okinawa.

The Churaumi Aquarium is the second largest aquarium tank in the world and located in the northwest area of Okinawa Island. A total of 77 tanks are on display and the highlight of a visit to the Churaumi Aquarium is the massive Kuroshio Sea Tank. The tank contains a wide variety of species. Discover the wonders of the ocean and get an up close look at the magical whale shark, the largest fish in the sea. See up close of sea cucumbers and star fish. Observe manatee, sea turtles and dolphins while they are swimming inside the aquarium. You will also see the world's first successfully bred in captivity manta ray.
One of the islands of Okinawa you should visit is the southern island known as Ishigaki Island. It offers scuba diving as it boasts different snorkelling spots that were absolutely amazing. Get your snorkelling gears and scuba diving equipments with Tom Sawyer dive shop and have a good guide with Shogen, the Okinawan Guide. He will guide, teach diving, and conduct diving trips out to Ishigaki island's diving spots. The diving is spectacular, homegrown beef and awamori to die for, and thick, untouched rainforests waiting to be explored, and of course the Manta Rays! The most reliable place to view these magnificent Manta Rays is the 'Manta Point'. It is located just off Kabira's coast. Mantas make their way to this point to clean and feed on plankton, however, there are other sites where they are frequently spotted throughout the archipelago.
With the help of the Okinawan guides, it's easy to navigate and find a range of coral reef inhabitants aside to the Manta rays. Osaki Hanagoi Reef is a steep sloping site that gradually becomes rockier the deeper dive you go. The site is named after the anthias fish synonymous with tropical reefs. This area is no current so it is very ideal for beginners. Tropical species such as sea goldies and white-rayed shrimp gobies shows in and out of the corals, while honeycomb moray eels, and leopard morays remain on guard, poking out from below.
The best time of year to encounter these harmless giants is said to be between July and November, although they are frequently spotted year-round.
To have this one of a kind diving experience, ask your tour operator about their diving packages in Okinawa.
