One of things that surprised me the most when I first came to Japan was just how much more convenient Japanese convenience stores are than American convenience stores are. They have become such an important part of my life in Japan. I’m pretty sure I visit a conbini every single day, whether to buy a cheap bento box, use the atm, or get some yummy Japanese snacks. Best way to eat on a budget.
Also unlike their American counterpart, conbini are a great place to get a cheap little meal on the go. I especially love Ministop because the selection is amazing and they have some of the best soft serve ice cream I’ve had in Japan for a cheap price.
