Souvenirs can be a pain to buy, especially when you are trying to buy a bunch for all your friends and family. We decided to check out Wholesale Hiroba Takagi, a surplus store for all things Japanese!
With their long history dating back to the late 20s, Takagi is a discount store that is popular with locals and tourists alike.
It's a great place to pick up a variety of Japanese snacks, food, sake, and other great souvenir items. Much like their American counterpart, Costco, Takagi sells many things in bulk, which makes souvenir shopping a lot easier.
There are locations all over Japan, but we visited the one near Nijo Station in Kyoto, because of it's convenient location to many of Kyoto's most popular siteseeing places. If you are in Kyoto and need to do a little sightseeing, we highly recommend checking them out.
